Did you have a mentor that inspired a lifelong desire to learn? Socrates famously wrote, Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel. As a recent graduate from Western Governors University's Master of Arts in Teaching program with three years of hands-on experience as an educational professional related to literacy intervention and meeting the needs of diverse learners, I aspire to become that leader for future generations. I understand the importance of providing inclusive, equitable, and culturally responsive mentorship and how each child's path to reaching their full potential is unique. I utilize my natural ability to create authentic relationships with children to build strong foundations of knowledge about who they are, their interests, and how they learn best to foster a lifelong love of learning, prosocial skills, and holistic growth. My mission is to meet children where they are and inspire flames of curiosity, self-efficacy, and determination that can lead them to become well-educated self-actualized adults.
