We’re proud to share that Friends of the Children – Utah has once again been recognized as a Company Championing Women, celebrating our continued commitment to creating a workplace where women have opportunities to lead, grow and thrive.

Companies Championing Women is a research-based recognition and engagement program created through a partnership between the Utah Women & Leadership Project, Sego Leadership, PowerHouse Events and the Salt Lake Business Journal. The program recognizes Utah organizations making measurable progress in recruiting, retaining and advancing women in the workplace.

Participating organizations complete an assessment developed by the Utah Women & Leadership Project, examining areas such as leadership representation, recruitment, and workplace practices. The initiative combines this data-driven benchmarking with leadership development, networking and opportunities for organizations to continue learning and strengthening their practices.

For Friends – Utah, being recognized again this year is especially meaningful.

Our mission is rooted in the belief that consistent relationships, meaningful opportunities, and a community of support can help young people reach their full potential. We believe those same principles matter within our organization, creating a workplace where our team members feel valued, supported, and empowered to contribute and lead.

This recognition is also particularly significant in Utah. While our state continues to rank among the nation’s leaders in economic growth, persistent disparities in women’s equality underscore the importance of workplaces intentionally creating opportunities for women to succeed.

On August 27, Friends – Utah Executive Director Kelsey Lewis and Program Director Kami Neves joined fellow honorees at the 2026 Companies Championing Women Recognition Luncheon at The Grand America in Salt Lake City to celebrate organizations helping move that work forward.

We’re honored to once again be counted among them and proud of the women whose leadership, expertise, and dedication strengthen Friends – Utah and our work with youth and families every day.
